What calendar with events for android to use in development?

Hello.
For a long time I can’t choose a calendar for my seemingly elementary task: displaying a calendar, in each cell the number of the day and text / drawable, with the ability to customize cells and the entire calendar field.
But so that without unnecessary tambourines, adapters, fragments and the like. I made the markup, initialized the calendar, we turn to the calendar object and its cells, does this even exist?
From the examples I will give Caldroid, but everything is very muddy with cell customization.
