What books are available on desktop application development methodology?
I have been writing for the web for many years (recently Symfony and Django), but I want to improve my knowledge of desktop development.
The last time I wrote this was 6-7 years ago, even before .NET - MFC, WINAPI, spaghetti code, Visual Studio 6
I'm not interested in descriptions of classes, languages, functions (documentation will do just fine with this), but in design and development, organizations code, desktop patterns, common tasks, recipes, (it would be nice to have popular external libraries)
Maybe there are blogs and Internet resources.
The language is not particularly important, probably, but I want to practice on .NET C # or QT / C ++
