What are the ways to get notifications when asterisk (freebpx) voicemail is received?

How can I be notified when I receive an asterisk (freebpx) voicemail?
I know it is possible by email...
but can it be configured so that when it appears on the network, a notification is sent in the form of a text message to the sip client, or an answering machine calls automatically with the voice of a previously composed message?

First, check if the client himself knows how to signal messages in voicemail. Possible parameters are Messages-Waiting, MWI.
And so - Asterisk is a fairly open system. Write your own script, hook to AMI, listen to events, send your commands.
