What are the ways to develop a learning Android application?

Good afternoon!
I turn to you for advice, because. lack of ideas. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
So, a couple of years ago, together with my wife, I created the Android application "Learn Russian" ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.l... ). This is a learning program that is suitable for children of primary school age. Based on a unique method and according to our data, the program really helps. I coded, and my wife wrote the phrases.
What we have at the moment:
254.000 installations.
38,000 active installations of
built-in Admob advertising and income of about $30-40 per month from it.
In the Google play search, we are at number three for the query "Russian language"
About six months ago, a paid version without ads was released. There are as many as 6 installations :-)
The main distribution channel (according to my estimates) is the "send to a friend" button inside the application.
What do I want from this project? I want its development, greater audience coverage, access to more serious traffic. So far I have used only one way - to regularly add new phrases to the application. But I do not think that this path will bring a large number of new users.
If you look at the difference between active and total installs, you can see that users do not stay in the application for a long time. I suspect that the average use time is a couple of months and then there is removal. Those. the application, corny, bothers ... you need to somehow diversify it and "attach" users.
But how ?

1. w3bsit3-dns.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=483697 - since your application is
already there, I recommend supporting it, at least with free versions "recommendations for improvement
3. delete - because. passed, and that's it .. it makes sense to keep
4. well, throw me a paid version without ads, for this advice;) maybe I'll think of something else)))

I myself am developing for android, I would note the design.
He's a little cool even, but I think it would be worth changing it.
I advise you to add a multi-user component to the application, this would delay users longer in applications.
You will have to make an effort to add to the application:
1. User ratings
2. The ability to arrange network battles with other users
3. Give users the opportunity to compete with friends. So that, for example, Petya could call Masha and find out who is cooler.
4. Add other types of games.
Look in the GP applications for the type of quizzes - guess what is in the photo, answer questions and so on. I advise you to move in this direction, and, accordingly, to focus on such applications in design.
Or, you can focus users not on the game component, but on the educational one. Come up with tests, classes for learning Russian. And choose a distribution model by subscription, or an application for free, and additional classes for studying on a topic - for money. For example, buy the dialect package for $0.99.
Good luck
