What are the strange app installs from China?

There is a game in the AppStore, Unity Ads is connected to it. The game was idle for half a year and unexpectedly over the past 3 days it began to be actively downloaded in China (about 200 installations in 3 days).
At the same time, Unity Ads shows that the number of ad impressions is zero for these three days. In iTunes Connect, I also see there is no activity on the application.
What could it be?

Probably bots. Or people cheaters. They download extraneous crap, which they don’t even use, so that they won’t be banned for cheating.
Is access to servers blocked in China? Maybe it would be happy to show ads or report it, but can't?
