Are there popular social networks where developers can find communication and people of their craft? How is GitHub in this regard? Is there something faster?

My colleague was called to work in a Polish company for relocation, just by looking at his profile on Stack.

Better than github? :) Well, how about the portfolio? Git is convenient and kills 2 birds with one stone. + shows your knowledge and skills
