What are the means of creating a schedule of universities?

Hello dear!
I really want to help my Methodist wife in the endless puzzle of scheduling, taking into account the various wishes of different people.
Looking for a Windows program or something that can be put on LAMP to automatically create a schedule.
Among other things, it would be a good feature to take into account the wishes of teachers regarding "windows" - some do not like them, and some do not care. For students, the schedule should be completely windowless. Any other goodies are welcome!
Please help me find something suitable and, of course, free with the possibility of free use.
Thank you in advance!

I will say openly, since I myself worked at a university - there is no such program. And those that are offered on the market at non-childish prices do not cover even a third of the nuances that arise when drawing up a schedule for students (type of audience, number of seats, group size, type of lesson, etc., the list can be continued for a long time )... We wrote our own software, as one of the modules of the ACS of the university, and this is really a serious project, and not what they write to teachers for "testing" .... So I have to upset you, because there will be no ready-made solution and, as said above, either take "daily programs and screw them to your needs", or in the old fashioned way with pens

Never seen such things. It is worth looking for any programs for schedules, and somehow screw them for your own purposes. In general, since your wife is a teacher, then let her tell one of the students to do such a program for credit (exam). We sometimes practice this practice.

There is an AUTO schedule, for example. A very convenient program that takes into account many factors (remoteness of buildings from each other, minimizing the number of windows, etc.).

As far as I understood from the discussion on Habré habrahabr.ru/company/raspisanie/blog/209986 we are talking about BSTU (Belgorod). A similar system is currently being developed at our university. If you have any specific considerations regarding the modification of the existing system, please contact the Laboratory for Education Quality Problems =) Internal phone number 1661 (Sergey).
I do not have an invite to habr, so I could not answer you in that thread. In fact, scheduling is an NP-complete multicriteria choice problem that has no unique solution.
I can tell you a lot about schedules and problems associated with them. Maybe, if I get together in time, I'll try to write an article in the sandbox.

As an ignorant person I will ask why you can not use the google calendar? :)

If it’s still relevant, here is a new schedule planning service it-institut.ru
