1. Interestingly, there are magnets or a coil on the suspension of this Levitron.
If simple magnets, how should they be positioned to levitate in a balanced way?

2. There is also an optical sensor on the platform itself, and a reflector on the suspension. What are they for?

The base contains magnets that hold the platform + coils that adjust the position of the platform in real time. In the center is probably a height sensor to keep the platform at the same height + hall sensors to be in the center.
The flying platform is just a powerful magnet.
