We decided to use Github to host the site.

And what are the disadvantages?
Is it possible to somehow protect the site from copying, but so that it is published?
In addition to a paid account.
Or on Bibucket to place on a private repository? Will it be visible to users?

Obviously, this is static - no php, nodes, hack on rails, databases... just static. This imposes certain restrictions. You can use Jekyll or something similar, but this does not change the essence.
What do you want to protect from copying? HTML? CSS? js? All this, one way or another, will arrive to the client, so the question of protection from extraneous eyes is somewhat absurd.
