What are the best books on operating systems in your opinion?
Hello to everyone who asked this question)
I decided to start studying the OS, but I can’t decide on a book that is worth reading to understand its basics. Because of the work, there is little time, and I would like to spend it with maximum efficiency) I looked
after 4 books on the OS:
- Modern operating systems, Tanenbaum.
- Operating Systems. Internal structure and design principles. William Stallings.
- UNIX operating system, Andrey Robachevsky
- Operating systems. A.V. Gordeev
Every day I work and plan to work with Linux, so the bias is more there. But I think in this case it doesn’t really matter, since all the books talk about both general principles and those related to a specific OS,
Perhaps someone has come across specific books or these authors and will tell you which one is more suitable (suited you), given how the text is presented, how information is given correctly, whether there is water (I briefly got acquainted with Tanenbaum, and as for me his book is aimed more at how to create operating systems, i.e. for system programmers, but I wanted to get some understanding for further development in system administration / DevOps).
In general, I will be glad to any advice.

if your tasks are administration and devops, books on the device of axes do not rest against you.
yes, they will not be superfluous (like any knowledge / experience), but for specific tasks it is much more useful to know the toolkit. provided by the system, and third-party.
The device, as already said, is not particularly important. Better take this book, in my opinion there are already roofing felts 6 roofing felts 7 version
