What are some beginner's books on C++?

Need a book for a beginner in C++ (except Stroustrup), preferably in Russian.

Author: Stephen Prata. It's called "The C++ Programming Language. Lectures and Exercises".
I am reading it. Sixth edition. Not bad. But before that, I taught pure C on K&R. So I don’t know how it will be if you don’t know pure C.

Herbert Schildt's books are good, C++ has a "step by step" for beginners.

Michael Dawson Learning C++ Through Game Programming
Don't let the name scare you! The book is designed for people with no background in programming at all. It reads very easy and interesting. Full of practical examples
