API - application programming interface. Often just a set of pre-written methods that you can call from your program and not worry about how they are implemented there. For example API Yandex Maps.
Framework - any development environment, a shell that makes life easier, giving hints.
For example, there is the Java language, and there is the Eclipse framework
Guideline = instruction.
