What and how to correctly replace ibus in ubuntu 14.10 gnome-session-fallback/Metacity?

After upgrading to ubuntu 14.10, ibus works crookedly, here is an example How to configure layouts in Ubuntu 14.10 Gnome Fallback separately for each window?
On 12.04 everything worked well without ibus.
Tried deleting ibus and setting setxkbmap manually, but then the language icon doesn't work and layout-for-each-window still doesn't work in compiz.
How to throw it away and how to replace it? How to customize the language icon?
