I recommend mastering Figma , which is available on all platforms. It will greatly facilitate the task when developing a website or interface design (with features that are not in the same Photoshop), and the layout designer will thank you, because in your layout you can immediately see the indents, export images or view the CSS code for the element.

In XD, everything is clear and understandable, there are no unnecessary tools that are not needed in the design. A sort of sketch for a multi-platform, with the ability to make prototypes and show them to the customer at a distance. Now I don't know, but in the future there should be converters from .psd to .xd. I recommend using adobe xd, and Photoshop so that you can crop the picture or something like that ;D.

1. In Russia and in the rest of the world - a different attitude to design. Those. very often it may be that the layout designer's computer does not even have Photoshop :) The reason is the price of the license.
2. Very different styles, the world is moving towards mobile-first, responsive, etc. design. In this case, Photoshop is even less needed, but you need a tool in which you can prepare a layout, how the design looks in different resolutions.
3. The task of Adobe XD is slightly different than Photoshop. In Photoshop you edit the picture and show the picture. In XD, you can make a fully working (simplified) layout to test it on different resolutions, devices, etc. This makes it possible to quickly prototype and test how convenient it will be to use the application, for example, on mobile phones.
4. Adobe XD - not only the web, but also for example phones, tablets, etc. Those. you can check the convenience of working for example applications on the phone.

In xd now it is possible to send a link to projects and there the layout designer can see all the indents, sizes, fonts and colors in real time. And pictures and icons are easily exported to png and jpg. So why do designers need Photoshop now?

Well, there is nothing to add to the previous commentators. Just for statistics, I will say that Adobe HD is an excellent tool and designs should be done in it. Photoshop or illustrator should be used only for hand-drawn graphics, all sorts of copyright icons, textures, photo processing. That's what photoshop and illustrator are for. The design of layouts on them was a necessary measure, since there were no other tools. Adobe HD is a tool created specifically for creating design layouts. You can also export layouts in svg format, which will allow the layout designer to open them in a browser and view all styles and markup through devtools

As for me, Adobe Xd is a cool tool for prototyping, I watched a lot of videos on YouTube, I never used it myself! I'm using FlatSome - no need for any imports - exports. Work directly, any block can be given an id or class and written in css. You can create pre-made blocks and display them anywhere, you can easily embed them into the template through shortcodes. All blocks are easily adjusted for adaptability. There is an analogue of Elementor. But I think that Elementor was not even close.
