Web fullstack developer - reality or fiction?

Hello! So the question arose, is a fullstack web developer a reality or fiction? And how do you think it is better for a novice specialist to develop, immediately try to cover both the frontend and backend, or choose some direction, for example, backend and specialize in it, and touch the frontend only slightly in order to understand what and how it works, and the same situation with frontend?

"fullstack web developer is reality or fiction?"
"And how do you think it is better for a beginner to develop?"
Do not ask stupid questions. Fullstack is NOT a beginner. The learning process will be long and hard. By the time this question makes sense to you a little more than banal curiosity, you will be able to answer for yourself.

Here is a full stack web developer. I have been thinking about changing jobs for a long time. It seems that I know a lot, it seems that the specialist is not bad, but highly specialized frontend or backend come to the interviews and they mix me up with what kind of substance. It turns out that it is difficult to find a job that is right on target. And there are much more JS or PHP vacancies for highly specialized specialists.
If you work for yourself or do something of your own, then yes, full stack is your everything.

having worked for 2-3 years as a backender, it’s almost impossible not to become a full stack, as for me

After 20 years of work experience, it will become indifferent to you on what and what to write. Everything can be handled with ease

1) fullstack != front+back-end
2) see what is more interesting -> look for vacancies in this area -> pull up the required skills
