web designer software for linux

The whole problem is that I draw, layout and program sites myself and at the moment I have to work on the Windows 7 system, which is not very convenient for me as a web programmer, since there is Photoshop for this system. There is undoubtedly GIMP in linux, but either I didn’t understand it to the end, or it really doesn’t allow you to create more or less high-quality projects. If anyone has seen or has personal experience with website design using GIMP, please share.

Dear web designers who use linux as a working OS, can you share information about the software that you use to create direct graphic design for the site? And if possible, a couple of links to sites where the design is drawn using GIMP or other graphics software under linux.

I think you are unlikely to find something complete, who's stopping you from keeping a virtual machine with windows for photoshop?

You can try to put Hackintosh on the computer. Unix and photoshop will not be a problem.

I suggest you consider using Playonlinux, with it you can fully launch applications that have no analogues on Linux.

Designers on Linux? No, I didn't. What to do when you need to open a file from Photoshop or Illustrator? IMHO, if windows is already completely unsuitable, then one way remains. Mac.

Try to run through the vine, it works more or less sane, but there are some glitches that sometimes infuriate. Exfool suggested Playonlinux above, also an option, maybe even better than Vine. You can also simultaneously try to study Gimp more deeply, maybe with time the skill will grow to a normal level (people draw in it). But something very impressive is unlikely to be done soon. For a virtual machine, you need IMHO at least 8GB of RAM.

Or maybe someone heard about some young projects on the topic? It's just strange that there is no software for linux that is as powerful as Photoshop, since linux is becoming more and more popular.

I have Photoshop under Wine. Works great no problems. Gimp is really not inferior to Photoshop in terms of functionality (on most tasks), but everything is implemented in it completely differently than in Photoshop - you will need to understand and study.
