Web design from scratch?

Hello! Lately I have been very interested in the topic of web design. But I know little about him (to be honest - nothing). At the university, I studied as an interior designer, but lately I have been more and more attracted to graphic design (I have been working in this area for 2 years, I mastered vector graphics myself, I know the basics). So...is it that hard to learn the web on your own? There is a lot of literature on this topic, but what kind of literature is better to study so that there is not a lot of water in it? Thanks in advance to everyone who answers

1) you need to learn how to build grids ( a short article on the history of grids and the principles of their construction)
2) you need to understand what a vertical rhythm is ( a small article about building a rhythm)
3) you need to learn, at least at the initial level, to typeset
4) after that study popular grids for the web (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
5) you need to understand what adaptive design (adaptive) is, and how it differs from responsive design (responsive)
6) you need to study typography, although not necessarily
7) you need study about the screen pixel - there is a translation of a cool article on Habré
8) after everything learned, watch the videowith an example of the design of a simple adaptive website
Well, that's all. You should already know about color and composition.

I don’t know about special books, but this is closer to printing (and there are a lot of books on book design), everything is almost the same: colors, typography, layout. The main difference is animation and special effects.

1) Still relevant and useful for beginners is the 2015 Web Design Fundamentals book by Tomal Rofal. All the material you need, without excess water.
2) For typography and layout, I recommend Artem Gorbunov's e-book, which is called "Typography and layout" . Although not free, it is worth reading.
3) I also recommend reading useful articles from these blogs:

flatro.ru

4) And of course you need to constantly look for inspiration cool work on behance
