Web Audio API - how to understand a person who knows nothing about working with sound?

Recently I began to figure out how to make sounds in the browser. I was surprised to find that the corresponding API consists of some terrible things like BiquadFilterNode, WaveShaperNode and other chthonic deities. Finding a description of how the API works is not difficult, it is more difficult to understand what all these things actually do. From my education in this area, I have an unfinished musical degree in piano and experience in playing the acoustic guitar. I know do-re-mi, I don't know the wave shaper - but I want to know. Googling is of little help, a more systematic approach is needed. Please tell me a specific book/website so that I can read and understand everything.

@Sirion

I advise you to read a couple of articles
promodj.com/articles/223438/Sintez_i_rabota_s_sint...
promodj.com/articles/326242/Sintez_zvuka_prodolzha...
Then download some VSTi synthesizer for example - Sylenth1 and play.
ps I have the same music education :)
