Wake-on-WTF???????
I have a Msi Wind netbook running Debian testing. It used to work 24/7, which is why I didn’t notice anything bad, but now I have to turn it off at night and an unpleasant thing has come to light. The laptop turns on by itself. This is not about sleep or hibernation, but about a complete shutdown. There is no "wake" setting in the bios. I forcibly disconnected from the network, so wake-on-lan does not roll.
What other means can a laptop turn on? Maybe it's something software that is able to put a label for the bios? Turning on occurs somewhere between 10 and 11 pm, more precisely there was no time to install (ie if the laptop turns off after 23-00, then it does not turn on by itself). Perhaps there are also daytime awakenings, but the laptop works all day anyway.

I can’t say about the laptop, but so, I somehow installed a hackintosh on my computer, and discovered a cool thing - turning on according to a schedule. I set it up, checked that it worked, and since I never turned it off, I forgot about it. Incidentally set the inclusion at 8 am. I remembered this when I was in the army, and my parent told me that my computer turns on every morning.
Check if you have this configured anywhere?
I would check the software or hardware is a problem by disconnecting / removing the disk from the laptop.
If he will be weird even without a disk, then the problem is not in the software 100%
it checks for updates. disable windows update in the settings or set a different time in the same place.
And the power cable is disconnected or remains on, did not consider the option of switching on from a power surge?
After turning it on, does it do anything? Well, there, maybe, he installs updates, defragments the disk ... no?
My Toshiba U500 turned on when the battery charge was critical, it was very annoying, I didn’t decide - I sold it. And you can be advised to reset the BIOS settings to default and if it does not help reinstall the Axis.
He just got infected with Skynet.
And in such a situation, you can’t trust the logs, you understand.
