Lenovo G700. Internet not working in Linux?

Installed on a Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon laptop. However, during installation and after installation does not see the Internet.
Internet via cable.
On Windows 8, after changing the Mac address to the address of the previous computer and setting the mode to “100 Mbps, full duplex”, everything worked.
On Mint, it only writes “Connecting” and that’s it.
Changed the Mac address (via network settings - options - cloned Mac address) and set full duplex (via mii-tool), tried to install drivers (compat-drivers-2013-03-04-u), but without rebooting modprobe did not work, and when rebooting, an error took off and it hung.
Qualcomm Atheros QCA8172 Fast Ethernet network card (rev 10).
Can anyone come across? What other ways to try?
UPD. I updated the kernel to 3.9.11, after which I installed the drivers (compat-drivers-2013-03-04-u). Problem still exists.
UPD. Updated the kernel to 3.11.6. Without changes :(

It turned out that DHCP did not work, I called the provider to change the old MAC address to a new one and set the settings from the old computer manually.

Try livsd ubunty some thread, if there is a problem with the network, then the rake is somewhere in the kernel / drivers.

@Andrewww

try setting the MAC address with ifconfig.
NetworkManager is sometimes naughty with MAC changes.
# ifconfig eth0 down # ifconfig eth0 hw ether XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
you can also restart the network daemon to be sure
/etc/init.d/networking restart
