VPN server + client without encryption, the best solution?

Hello. Due to what is happening in this country, the question arose of providing access to some resources that have fallen under the onslaught.
In particular, one network shooter stopped working.
For myself and friends, I raised an OpenVPN server, pushing routes to clients on all known Amazon networks.
Ping in the game is acceptable, everyone is happy, but...
The problem is the following - the game constantly exchanges small packets with the server, after about two hours of an active connection, the ping jumps sharply to 1000, reconnecting the client helps. (If anyone knows why, I would be grateful)
The main problem is that the client under Windows heavily loads one processor core, devouring precious PC resources.
The question arose, by what means can you get vpn without encryption and with a minimum load on the client? Or even not vpn. We have nothing to hide and encrypt over this channel, ping and the minimum packet processing time by both the server and the client are important + minimal network and processor loads.

In your case, it's not about encryption - any more or less modern processor digests AES without problems with the help of instructions specially tailored for this, unless, of course, you drive hundreds of megabits through the tunnel. Are you sure it's not the server? Maybe there is something missing on the other side?
In general, openvpn also knows how not to encrypt data, it’s enough to tell it in the config cipher none.
