VirtualBox, why doesn't it come out to open access from the outside?
OS: Win7 Max.
VBOC: Ubuntu 10.04 x32.
Connection: Direct.
IP Win7: 10.15.23.42 (Gray) - 2ip.ru gives: 91.242.42.40
IP VB Ubuntu: 10.0.2.15
Connection settings in VB:
Noob attempt to forward ports in VB:
Basic:
When I try to go to 10.0.2.15, there is no access. When trying to connect to 10.15.23.42 - there is a connection to VB, i.e. -> forwarding went well. When connecting to 91.242.42.40 - there is a welcome page from the provider.
The essence of the problem:
There is no connection to VB from the outside, with a direct connection (I generally keep quiet about the router ...).
There was an attempt to use TeamViewer VPN, but nothing came of it (Given 0.0.0.0 and ping was not carried out). But at the moment I'm asking for help not with TeamViewer, but with standard settings.
I beg you to help!
Thank you very much in advance!
* I'm not familiar with network settings myself, but if you tell me to drop something, I'll try *
P / S / And in general, will it be possible to do this with a router?

just remove the host IP and guest IP, leave these fields blank.
VBox will substitute the IP of the guest automatically
. you specified the host IP 10.15.23.42, then it listens only to this address. you can check in netstat -an
if you have "When connecting to 91.242.42.40 - there is a welcome page from the provider." then most likely you are NAT-yat. If this is true, then you are unlikely to be able to reach the VM from the Internet, since it will be impossible to reach your host machine.
You can easily check whether you are nat or not - run some lightweight web server like HTTP File Server ( http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/ ) on the port you need, and try from the outside, for example from a smartphone, to check availability
And I generally advise VMWare Workstation - it eats few resources, and it works more stable, and it's much easier and more understandable to learn and configure :)
