Virtualbox what happens if you remove the snapshot checkpoint?

Hello.
Because of the growth in the size of the control points, I want to remove more than half, but I don’t know what it can turn into then? Now in virtualbox, if you click on deleting a checkpoint, a warning window appears.

Do I think correctly if I first copy the entire snapshot folder to another disk and if something goes wrong, then I restore all the files from it - will it work?

After deleting a snapshot, you will not be able to rollback to the moment the snapshot was created.

Snaps are a good way to save games for dos, for example, in which there was no way to save. When a snap is deleted, it simply disappears; it will not be possible to roll back to the state that it was at the time it was saved.
And that's all. How to rub saves in a toy. But you really need to know what to rub, the deleted cannot be restored ...

No. All pictures are linked. You can manage them only from the manager.
then will this point be restored or will I not launch it unambiguously?
You will lose the entire chain of shots.
If you want to keep one of the previous states, clone it.

Created a new virtual machine with a disk size of 20gig. I installed ubuntu and the programs I needed and set everything up for work. In the toga, it turned out about 7.5 gigabytes of occupied space.
Question.
Why does the Xubuntu.vdi file grow in size and now it weighs a little more than 10 gig if I did not update anything at all and did not install any more programs?
