VirtualBox on Windows 8?
Greetings!
I have the following problem with the virtual box: after installing on the eighth venda (Pro, x64) and rebooting the system, venda refuses to boot, the boot screen just hangs juggling balls and nothing happens, does not react to anything, the keyboard does not work (the lights do not switch) … Repeated reboot does not help, the next reboot calls the system recovery procedure and rolls it back to the last working state (that is, without vbox)… Repeated attempts and various shamanism did not lead to anything. On the manual pageVirtualBox Windows 8 is one of the supported hosts, I also didn’t google anything sensible on this topic, as if others didn’t have any problems with this, although I had heard something about the incomplete functionality of vbox on win8 before way out ... Earlier, on the seven and on the same hardware, there were no problems with vbox ... Maybe someone has encountered similar behavior and knows what's wrong and what is the solution?
PS: Don't offer Hyper-V, I use it, but I'm interested in VBox.

Works without any complaints. The only thing I can recommend in this case is to check if Intel virtualization is enabled in the BIOS. But even then it should only be required for x64 systems already when these systems are launched in VBox itself.
On several machines with W8 I use VirtualBox without problems, but recently the same problem occurred when installing on a Lenovo W520 - Windows hangs after a reboot. It all ended with the demolition of VB from safe mode.
Are there any entries in the system log (Event viewer) about this? After such a hang, you can try to boot into safe mode and see the latest entries in the log.

Oh by the way. I hope you don't install vbox on a system where hyper-v is already installed? Because of this, there may be problems, because. hyper-v loads its prichendals earlier, and may affect loading of the vbox driver.
