Video camera for monitoring your car from the 7th (seventh) floor, which one is better?

At night, I leave the car in front of the entrance of a multi-storey building. There is a need to conduct video surveillance. there are situations of theft, vandalism, damage to cars. What is the best camera for this? Is it more convenient to install a WiFi camera or a regular IP camera, what focal length should the camera have (after all, the 7th floor, 2.8 mm is probably too wide a viewing angle?)? Thank you in advance.

If the parking place is not fixed, then you need a turn signal. Recently, for the same purpose, they installed such a camera: DS-I205M . We put it on the balcony of the 3rd floor. Not very high, so 4x zoom was enough. For the seventh floor, you need something more serious, for example: DS-I215(B) or DS-I225(B) . You can also write to a flash drive, only sometimes they die, but hard drives also die. Therefore, you need to check the performance more often and set up notification of failures.

Suitable for parking or garage.

First, no "Wi-Fi". Secondly, install a camera with PTZ and optical zoom - so you can always select the desired area of observation and zoom. Thirdly, the matter is not limited to one camera - what will you write on? Just don't mumble "on the fleeeeeeeshka", don't stutter about "ablakaaaa" either: you need a normal registrar - an inexpensive but quite functional HiWatch DS-N204 (B) is quite suitable.

the camera will only save you from accidental vandalism from the category “oh, I was driving out of the parking lot and didn’t notice how it hurt you”
those who go to take something off the car use a cap / hood / medical mask
, so listen to Sergey Gornostaev ’s advice

Borrow binoculars and a stopwatch from someone. Then, in sunny weather, try to see a potential intruder through binoculars. After that, you can use the stopwatch to work out the time of detection and capture of an unidentified intruder.
After all these experiments, I think the conclusion will be obvious - that this crazy idea should either be developed to the level of a secure facility with a rapid response group, perimeter control systems, radio coverage, and then a number of cameras will really contribute to a more efficient direction of the capture group ... or forget and score .

This only makes sense if you always park in the same place, or in the next one. It's pointless to survey the whole yard.
You want the maximum focal length so that the angle is as small as possible.
I would take either hiwatch ds-i256, it has a good kingston endurance memory card, it will need a 12v power supply and a wire from the router.
Or separately hd-cvi recorder and hd-cvi varifocal camera from rvi/dahua. They will also need a power supply, a wire from the router, and a hard drive - better skyhawk or purple.
"Wire from the router" is not necessarily literal, you can use a powerline kit or put something that receives wifi, for example, a router in bridge mode
