Video analytics. Is it possible to follow an object at high speed?

Task: objects move at high speed in the frame, is it possible to track their location and, depending on the hit in certain zones in the frame, enter the necessary data into the database. It is video analytics that is of interest, the fact that it is possible to supply the necessary equipment in the form of cameras is understandable. Googling on machine vision didn't help.

More confident that you can. Determine the branches of objects that fall into the frame -> And the zones that should be saved in the database can serve as triggers, in which if the object enters, then all the necessary information is simply saved in the database.
So if you answer specifically to the question, is it possible? - certainly possible.
But exactly how? - in this regard, again, I'm sure that there are a lot of different implementations and products on this topic.
