VGA to DVI adapter + DVI to HDMI adapter?

Good day to all! I found my old monique 1080x1024 and a brilliant idea came to me, to connect it to the laptop in order to throw an IDE on it. On the monitor itself, there is only a VGA connector, and in the distant, but beautiful 2007, it was connected to the video card through an adapter from VGA to DVI:

The laptop has only an HDMI connector and I found such a thing to compensate for this misunderstanding and still connect the monitor to the beech. Please tell me this will work?

Won't work. HDMI - purely digital, VGA - purely analog, DVI - can be both options at once or separately. Passively, the figure cannot be converted to analog or vice versa.
Just buy an active HDMI-VGA adapter that will do this. But I don’t recommend it, crap is buggy and, most likely, it will be cheaper to buy a modern monitor in an easier way.)
