Variables fly in TestComplite as soon as the test falls by timeout, how to win?

In our project, a large amount of data is stored in an XML file and is pulled up at the first steps of test script execution.
If in the future one of the tests falls on a timeout, then all these variables fly off and further continuation of the tests is not possible. Is there any way to win this?
