Using dd to deploy the image to /dev/sda1?
Hi all!
There is a Debian 9 VPS in Aruba.
I want to poke fun at him a little.
There was an idea to hack instead of Debian MikroTik CHR. Of course, on the tariff for 1 euro, you cannot slip your system image when deploying the server.
The question is whether this is possible: dd if=/chr-6.44.5.img of=/dev/sda1
Another question is whether someone tried to pull this off and what came of it, what ideas do you have? There are several notes on the habré of the bearded times with mounting tmpfs, but they do not plow anymore. After the reboot, it's all the same how Debian was, it is.
