Is it possible to use the information distributed in Wikipedia? It seems like it’s possible, I’m not so doubtful about the text, but are the pictures (for example, photos of cat breeds) in the public domain? Or does Wikipedia not follow this? Would it be a violation to use text and media from Wikipedia in my application?

Wikipedia takes photos mainly from wikimedia and everything is licensed under Creative Commons, well, it is advisable to indicate the author of the photo if he is known.
