Using cf/md sm/sm ms card as system drive? Can it be done quickly and cheaply?

In general, I have a varied card reader (like in the photo).
So I thought if I stuffed flash drives into it, would I get a cheap kind of ssd drive?
Here are the characteristics right now (photo 2).

Large and medium capacity cards die very quickly with intensive recording. There are a lot of negative reviews on Yandex.Market for almost all popular manufacturers (with the exception of models of the lowest capacity). Because of this, the average rating does not rise above the baseboard despite the efforts of marketers. I can personally confirm all this, more than one killed (without external influences) card passed through my hands. But I have never seen a dead SSD in my life. There are one and a half stories revolving around RuNet about how someone managed to kill an SSD. If the number of these stories is divided by the volume of media sales, then it turns out that SSDs are the most reliable storage media today.

some network pieces of iron use them as a hard drive for the system, the same m0n0wall, pfsense put on them. but it all depends on your needs, network gateways and fully working cars are one thing. and no cheap ssd drive you will get out of it. there speeds will be higher :)

All sorts of Malinka and similar microcomputers work from SD cards. Those. there are no fundamental obstacles. But all the same, the cards are not designed for this mode of operation and there is a possibility of their accelerated dying. Especially with the current quality of the cards.
But if you still turn the card into a disk for a computer, then I would try to take an adapter from CF / SD to IDE / SATA instead of such a card reader.

No system instead. As the second, it is used everywhere (phones, tablets). And Windows will simply refuse to install on such media.
