Using an Android device as a car navigator?

Does anyone use Androyd as an autonavigator? Can it be considered a full replacement? Will it work with an unstable and weak connection?
Thank you!

I use Orange San Francisco. Most often ProCity, sometimes Navitel.
If you need to occasionally turn on the city, then it completely replaces it. But if you are going to use it for a long time or daily in unfamiliar areas, then the size of the screen causes inconvenience (I compare it with a 5 '' car navigator), the speed of finding satellites and the quality of the signal (on my phone I have MUCH more often “No connection with satellites” than on a navigator with Sirf Atlas V).

HTC Desire, I've been using it as a navigator for about a year (iGo / Navigon / Yandex / Google Navigator, depending on the situation). Works great. I often send the navigator to the background, and display Yandex traffic jams on the screen. The navigator says in words where to go, I adjust the route in real time due to traffic jams.

It is also interesting that you can use the phone as a DVR. right now, the software already seems to be there. works together with the navigator. a couple of days a friend showed at work. but the navitel sometimes loses satellites ... it can really be a problem with a particular device. HTC Desire S

Galaxy S - never became a full-fledged replacement for the navigator.
When calling - remove / put on a stand. SMS are coming, which are not needed at the moment when you are orientated along the streets. Navitel behaved somehow buggy (maybe his hands are crooked, but I want everything to work flawlessly out of the box). Plus, when I used a regular navigator, I left it in the car overnight and didn’t bother. The habit remained and I just as often left the phone in the car. Somehow dumbly rising to the 5th floor to realize that the phone was left in the car. And follow him again.

Lg Optimus One (p500) - it suits me very well as a navigator! I use Navitel 5.
It suits me completely.
Bati's Navitel NX5000 is expensive (6900 rubles), the resolution is too low for 5 inches, 480x272 pixels, resistive screen, one nightingal squalor for that kind of money! And the Optimus costs a little over 7k, but for this money you get a 600MHz processor, a capacitive screen, etc... But you have to buy a license or be a pirate)

I consider it a complete replacement for the navigator.
If you are from Default City - IMHO the best option is the free version of CityGuide. Download directly from their official site. It turns out free of charge and the calculation of the route, taking into account traffic congestion.

Used iGO very satisfied. Of the minuses, it can be noted that the brakes on the Hero are, of course, the device itself is to blame. Sometimes there are crashes of the application, which is also not pleasant.
