Using a 1/10 screw can somehow affect performance?
Hello.
There are a dozen servers with FreeBSD, before upgrading I make a full backup of the server with Acronis.
All servers have a 1 TB system disk, so backup takes about 3 hours.
On all servers, the ZFS file system and the system itself takes no more than 10-20 gigs .
On one of the servers I will reinstall the system, I want to use only 100Gb from a terabyte screw so that subsequent backups go faster.
Using a 1/10 screw can somehow affect performance? Is this kind of thing normal?

If you are doing a full block disk backup, then reducing the disk size will obviously increase the speed of the backup.
What specific type of backup you are using is a question for you and your acronis.
Another question: if you are using ZFS then why don't you use snapshots? They are ideal for your specific task.
