USB barcode scanner

Good day.

Some system needs barcode scanning. A review of the presented USB models showed that they emulate a keyboard, which is completely unacceptable, because. you need to process input from the scanner regardless of the currently active application.

Advise a suitable model or software solution to the problem.

Thank you.

In fact, many scanners have different modes. In addition to keyboard emulation, you can turn the scanner into COM port emulation mode, and then the data will go to the emulated port. You need to look at the docks for a specific model. I have an inexpensive scanner from Honeywell at home (I won’t tell you the model right off the bat) - I saw it in his documentation.

Most scanners can be put into COM mode.
For me, for example, this is done by scanning the barcode 000601.
After turning it off and on, you can work with it like with COM.
