Upwork / oDesk - does it make sense to bet on old tasks?

Does it make sense to place bids (bids, proposals) on job offers older than, for example, 3 days old. Or 1 day?
There is a feeling that tasks hanging for more than a day are simply not interesting to their creators and will not bring results.
Do you bet on which tasks by age (maximum)?
I don't want to spend tokens just like that.

Rarely, but it happens that customers respond only after a week.

See what tasks. If the typical types of a site on WordPress are definitely not, there are already 60-80 answers, maybe you just won’t be noticed in this pile, just waste your connections. If you are working with a rare or complex technology that the Indians have not yet reached, it makes sense.

It’s only worth knocking on a narrow specialization of a task or a high complexity or volume, that is, where the client needs to strongly choose over what and how
. And of course it’s not worth it, at least you shouldn’t hit a task where there are already 10-20 applications, a person is just probably the list will not reach you when choosing a freelancer.
