Good afternoon, dear community, as a matter of fact, the question itself is in the subject.

What is the best way to upgrade. ESXi uses "free" in both cases.
Downtime is possible within reason up to 4 hours.

Is it possible to update using the distribution, boot from it and choose to update with the preservation of all configurations. I
'm interested in the experience of such upgrades.

The update took 15-20 minutes. The situation was similar, after the update everything started without problems.
1. inserted the installation disk with the 5th version
2. loaded
3. updated
4. rebooted
5. profit
