Up-to-date, free CMS for the forum?

Advise please CMS. I'm looking at phpbb3 myself, although it looks a bit dated. Is there anything else from free and more or less common CMS (so that you can turn to someone for help, support)?

You can also watch PunBB . When I chose, I settled on it, but in the end I didn’t use it, since the need disappeared.

Take a look at esotalk.org/ , a rather interesting and non-standard implementation of a simple forum. Support on the official site, but it seems like the community is growing.

If relevant, then of course IPBoard or XenForo (the solution is much more interesting).
