Unlock SIM, by yourself

Who knows the principle of unlocking phones tied to an operator? As far as I understand, the lock is software, but I can’t really find information on how to remove it, I only see about unlock codes. Is there a more convenient way? For example, through the removal or replacement of software modules, on a rooted device?

Codes and people doing for a fee or for free are not interesting, this is for personal experience, I often reflash devices, but I encountered locked ones for the first time (Huawei U8160).

Usually, unlocks are bought from the operator itself, it is not so expensive if all the conditions under the contract are met.
You call the operator and buy or buy from his website.

As I understand it, the lock is software and data about it is stored in the radio module of the phone, or maybe not in it. Usually this module is not reflashed, and it is not recommended, because. as a result, the phone can become a brick with a high probability.

On the iPhone, this is also the responsibility of the firmware of the radio unit (Baseband), which is essentially a modem hanging on the internal bus.
In 3G / 4G USB modems, at least based on a Qualcomm chip, the firmware itself is responsible for the state of the lock, the values \u200b\u200bthat determine the mode are stored in special cells of permanent memory.

The principle is quite simple, either a keygen is used (or what to call it?), which generates a code based on IMEI (there may be several of them), or there is interference in a protected section of memory (exploit, hidden capabilities of the manufacturer, test point) of the phone where the flag is reset about blocking. At one time, for example, on SE (not smartphones), the blocking could be removed by patching the SIM card check function, but I don’t think that the situation is the same with new devices now.
Ps As far as I know, it is completely impossible to remove the lock in phones where the binding is recorded in Read-only memory.

As far as I understand, unlocking phones for a cellular network can be divided into two parts:
1. The phone is locked on the operator's side. An example of an Apple iPhone is being blocked by AT&T. When installing a SIM card, the phone asks for activation initially. you need an Internet connection, in which a request is made to the manufacturer's database, and in this case Apple in which there is a record of the unlock status. If the entry is missing or it has an unlock status, then the phone accepts the card. But in order for this entry to appear on the side of the Apple manufacturer, it must be changed by the mobile operator or by the manufacturer itself.
So, in order to unlock such an iPhone, you need to know the IMEI number of the phone, send a request to the mobile operator \ or call there and ask for the phone to be unlocked. Now there are pitfalls here: a phone on a contract/agreement that has not expired, or to unlock (in 90%) you need to pay a penalty, the amount of which each operator has its own. What to do now? There are services for remote unlocking via IMEI phone number, which take care of all these manipulations, they want money for it. By and large, the amounts to ask for are small, but there is a nuance here, namely, there are many one-day sites - which simply take money and throw people. The second option for such sites is resellers. For a long time I was looking for the best site that could unlock an iPhone for a normal price and with a good reputation. I found a couple of these.att-iphone-unlock.com . Other carriers can be unlocked here letsunlockiphone5.com .
2. Unlock code generation - suitable for Android and windows phones. This applies to the following phone manufacturers Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Sony, Nokia, LG - you don't need to give the whole list :) It will be difficult to choose the code yourself - dozens of powerful servers are allocated for this. For Samsung example, unlock codes are generated by this service digitalunlocking.com/unlock-samsung . After generating the code, you will receive an email with the actual code that you need to enter into your phone. Usually, before that, you need to enter a combination - it is separate for each phone and enter this code in the menu that appears. That's all wisdom :)
Good luck with unlocking!

Samsung galaxy s4 mini Gt-i9190 help unlock the phone from the MTS sim card for a fee. The problem is that I am in a place where I can’t take the phone to the service, I don’t have a computer at hand, I’m afraid to order the code, because I flashed the phone through Recovery, it’s not a fact that it will work, but there is no native firmware. In general, I am ready to pay if you do! I will provide, if necessary, remote access through team viever, for example, or as you say. Generously REWARD, without a phone as without hands!
