Universal slider size?

Is there a universal (recommended) photo size for widescreen sliders? All of my sites are responsive, and the sliders are full screen width. I use 1920x1080 images. What sizes are you referring to?

Depending on the support required. There are not many screens with a resolution higher than 2000 px wide, so if you fold them back, then your resolution is quite acceptable. And it would be nice to pre-process such images so that your slider does not load the site with 5mb photos)
