I want to install Ubuntu on a laptop on a virtual machine without graphics - only to work with Ruby on Rails. The laptop has 512 RAM, so I want to download Ubuntu without graphics, and so I go to the office. site, and there is Ubuntu Server. And that Ubuntu - is that Ubuntu without graphics?

Ubuntu server is roughly speaking one console.
Yes, it's without graphics.

Under the server, the kernel is more optimized!
If the X86 desktop sees a maximum of 4GB of RAM, then the x86 server will see 64GB of RAM, but this is not the only difference.
There are a lot of them, to be honest, but not very significant.
