Ubuntu. Proprietary drivers not working?
Do proprietary drivers work (nvidia video card)? It's just that after changing from a free driver to a proprietary driver, almost everything refuses to start (Unreal Engine, CS GO, etc.). But the problem is that the graphics on the free driver are terrible (i.e. shadows and lighting are "noisy"). How to fix this?

Check if you have the driver module installed. You can check with this command:
dkms status
My answer looks something like this:
nvidia-352, 352.39, 3.19.0-30-lowlatency, x86_64:
installed
sudo dkms install -m nvidia-352/352.39 -k 3.19.0-30-lowlatency/x86_64
Reboot afterwards.
