Ubuntu: Left mouse button stuck. What to do?

Good afternoon. For the past few weeks, the left mouse button has been stuck. I have not been able to identify any pattern as to why this is happening. Disconnecting the mouse wire does not help. Tried different mice from different manufacturers: no difference.
