Ubuntu how to set up a mouse?

Good day, I use a thinkpad bluetooth mouse, ubuntu 14.10. Sometimes you need to be able to quickly use the ctrl+w key combination to close a window. The mouse has additional keys in the form of moving the mouse wheel to the right and left to scroll horizontally (it does not work out of the box), how can I hang my hotkeys on mouse wheel deviations?
I tried xbindkeys but it does not detect mouse buttons, as I understand it, do I need a bunch of several programs? Maybe it can be done in a simpler way? I don’t always need this function and mostly in the chrome browser, can I somehow implement it with add-ons?

@Gal78rus

I myself found the answer on the forums, the necessary programs xvkbd and xbindkeys, xvkbd just installed, did not touch anything in it.
xbindkeys config is:
"xvkbd -xsendevent -text "\[control]"c"
m:0x0 + b:9
"xvkbd -xsendevent -text "\[control]"v"
m:0x0 + b:8
reboot and everything works .
