try turning off Visual Effects
System->Preferences->Appearance
Visual Effects Tab
Select None
are Nvidia, which are Recommended, it is also possible to install some 173, then everything worked with Recommended on 10.10
This problem is not only with me, but also on another computer of a different configuration.
In general, I probably roll back to 10.10
A similar situation with windows after the upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04. After launching the 2nd, 3rd or 4th application, its window in full screen mode is not drawn. I use classic GNOME + Compiz. This is probably a Compiz bug, because after executing in the console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) 'compiz --replace' everything becomes normal for a while with only one side effect: all running applications are "clumped" on the same desktop.
Try disabling "recommended" and then re-install (everything with reboots) (It worked for me) :)
