Two layouts in one bottle, LINUX! Really?

Hello, I'm wondering if it's possible to organize something similar for LINUX?
Briefly, the above topic describes the method of using the Ukrainian and Russian layouts without switching the layout itself.

That is, the letters: "і, ї, є" are printed in the Russian layout in combination with "ALT" or another function key.

yes, there you just need to carefully edit the layout file

here is a good guide; 10.04 should be the same.

If we are talking about the following, then you just need to select the button for the "third level".

That is, the letters: "і, ї, є" are printed in the Russian layout in combination with "ALT" or another function key.

Here is a mini guide.
  1. We select in the layout settings “key to choose 3rd level” (sorry, I have an English locale).
  2. We put the default Ukrainian layout (not winkeys or any other). For example, in gnome, when you select a layout, you will see it on the keyboard layout, and the “third level” is shown there.
  3. ... and, if you have X's not many years old, ...
  4. PROFIT!!!

Hold down the button for the third level and enter. This is because at one time good people built a layout, and it was accepted as the default for X.
