Turning lights on and off quickly does light bulbs burn out?

Probably everyone in childhood was told by their parents not to mess with light bulbs.

Myth or reality: does the fact that you quickly turn on and off the light bulbs really burn out?

Reality - when turned on, the filament of an incandescent lamp experiences shock thermal stresses and can easily burn out. From this there is protection - a device for smooth switching on lamps. Search in electrical goods.

I think not, the transient process is to blame for the burnout, it is in any case, at least turn it on quickly, at least slowly, when the contacts are almost closed, a breakdown with high voltage occurs, it seems to me that there is not much difference manually.
