TTF font for CP1251 encoding in Emacs??
Hello. Sometimes you have to edit mixed texts in English and Russian, and the Russian part is given in CP1251 encoding. I work in Emacs under Debian 8. Installed the DejaVu Sans Mono font. The default encoding is UTF8.
Problem. Everything that is not Russian letters is displayed in the DejaVu font, while the symbols of the Russian alphabet are drawn in some other font that hurts me to look at. I roughly understand that the whole point is that the DejaVu font is sharpened for UTF8 encoding. Emacs cannot figure out and recode something on the fly. How to help him? I don't like Sublime, I don't like Vim.
