Trouble installing "guest additions" on Win7 in VirtualBox

I have the following system:

Core2Quad + X38 + ICH9R with VT-x support without VT-d support
8 GB of memory
Windows 7 x64
VirtualBox 4.0.8 r71778

A virtual machine was created in VirtualBox, Windows 7 x64 (x86 also tried) with the following settings:
4 cores
4 GB memory
128 MB VRAM with checkboxes 2D/3D acceleration
VT-x, nested paging
40 GB drive SATA
USB 2.0
default chipset, default audio, no floppy, IDE DVD-ROM
bridged network adapter

To enable Direct3D support in Windows guest 7 in VirtualBox you need to install "Guest Additions". At the same time, they must be installed by loading the guest operating system in Safe Mode.

The problem is the following:after a couple of seconds after the “Login to the System” screen appears, the virtual machine reboots. (- when booting in safe mode; in normal everything is fine)

In the Event Viewer after a reboot, you can see the following event:

The Process C:\Windows\system32\winlogon.exe (%username%-PC) has initiated the restart of computer %username%-PC on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Reason Code: 0x500ff
Shutdown Type: restart
Comment:

There is nothing more criminal in the event log.

I would be grateful for any ideas on enabling Direct3D in the guest OS in VirtualBox.

To enable Direct3D support in a Windows 7 guest in VirtualBox, you need to install "Guest Additions". At the same time, they must be installed by loading the guest operating system in Safe Mode.

What makes you think you need Safe Mode? I installed without it: everything was installed and working.
