Transfer from xampp to server?

I made a website locally using xampp. Now I want to transfer to the server. Shared hosting won't work, you need vps. As I understand it, vps is a kind of virtual machine where you put the desired axis, connect the necessary components (apache, database, etc.).
What can you read to learn how to set up a web server, at least at the initial level? Preferably in Russian

Put yourself in a Linux virtual machine and learn how to use it at the level of a novice user.
That's enough.

@akelsey

probably a long time to read, especially since you have a specific task (although many will not agree with me).
I would suggest you use any virtualization system and "simulate the internet".
You will need two virtual machines,
1. Windows Server is also a client with a browser, it is also DNS, it can also be a Certification Authority.
2. Your VPS (with OS familiar to you).
Next, you make a list - what you need to configure on the winserver to simulate dns, on the vps to install a web server, use snapshots and in a couple of days, or a couple of months (depending on your perseverance) - you will learn how to install and configure php and apache and nginx , and mysql, hook up ssh, nano, maybe vim along the way...
