Tor site. "hidden_service" is not created and with it "hostname" and "private_key" files, how to get them?

Server OS - ubuntu 16.04

apt-get install tor
nano etc/tor/torrc

Undocumented "HiddenServiceDir" and "HiddenServicePort" (left the default values), saved the file.

service tor restart
cd /var/lib/tor
ls

The directory is empty. And "hidden_service" should have been created and in it the files "hostname" and "private_key". How to get them?

Judging by the off manual, the files are here:
ls /var/lib/tor/hidden_service/
